More critters in Jan

Adorable critters... (also one of our quilters who works from home has adopted six critters to make quilts for.  Can't wait to see what she comes away with).

I've put together more of the small quilts that we laid out at the meeting, PLUS a few from my orphan blocks. Its always nice to find our "orphans" a home.

My aunt who used to come to mtgs got a job to do (she loved it!)... turning quilts inside out.

Someone donated a wicker basket to deliver! Thank you Janet B.

"Comfort Critters" grand opening

First of all I must give credit for the inspiration for this project to Mary Johnson of

https://maryquilts.com/doll-bear-quilts/

Here are the first two (of many) critters and their quilts (need to make a 'tie' for the pink monkey).

We currently have 35 critters and 7 quilts done, or in the works.

Here are #1 & 2.(brown one is hedgehog).

The year of the child- 2025

Today was VERY productive! Only four of us, but this is what we got done...
1. Sandwiched a heartstring quilt, which i took home to hand-quilt. (Two more quilts to sandwich in our piles).

2. Pieced a backing for Dee's Triangle/envelope quilt.

3. And then ... there were 'the bears/critters" !! Boy, did THAT idea go over WELL!

One little quilt was put together with a small group of Orphan blocks and a bag I brought from my collection of scrap blocks that were sewn into HSTs. The blocks  were trimmed to 9" sq and we put 9 together form a little quilt. Added a cute green backing, Maria sewed it and will take it home to tie it. It's getting paired up with a bright green dinosaur.

We matched 4 other quilts up, took photos when we saw how we liked the layout
(placement), added fabrics for the backings, and wrapped them up with a corresponding critter. These are to be played with later. I'm also gonna see Kathy on Tuesday so she can take some to play with.

Really. Good. Day!

...ps... I hit the dollar tree store and bought MORE critters!!
