Kathy's, Karen's and Kim's gift!s!

 This month has been great for our group! One of our members made a monetary donation from her aunt (they exchange Christmas gifts, by choosing a non-profit to support instead of buying each other gifts. Kim N chose US for her aunt's gift! Thank you so much...

Karen C, one of my former high school classmates, found out about our group at a recent reunion committee mtg, and sent a donation that will help with our next purchase of batting! Thanks Karen C!!

This month, Kathy (our powerhouse critter quilter) has decided to try machine quilting her little quilts and leaving the opening for me to finish sewing. Usually, I've also done the hand-quilting or machine-quilting or tying to the quilts she puts together (usually 20-24/month!)

Usually, that process takes me a week or more, so this last batch (20) took me an afternoon (and I even had lunch and a nap!) I even made two of my own from scraps!!!

Number 20 and 21-police depts

 So while on vacation in Maine,  I added two more deliveries to police stations for our critter list.

Five went to Ellsworth police (Barbie said she'd give them to officers responding to incidents that have children involved when they respond).

Thirty-two went to Katie at Bangor police dept. She originally thought shed take 20 or so... but when she realized how compact they are, she took all that I brought into the station!

Goulsdboro, Maine becomes our 19th station!

 Thanks to a chance meeting at a local gas/grocery stop in Winter Harbor, Maine, we were able to offer 6 critters to Officer Corey (Gouldsboro police dept).

 What a fabulous mtg we had... 4 new ladies who have never been. They had LOTS of critters to donate and while we will be set for the summer (and beyond!), we'll be quilting up a storm!!

Attending were Kathy, Jane, Kim, Carol, Gloria, Gail, Linda, Jill, me. All we did was wrap and bag critters. All the new ones had their tags removed, but I'll double-check that no plastic is remaining in any parts.
