TV Interview-on local news

After Rocky Hill PD posting us on their  FB page, we received a request for an interview with a local TV station, WFSB-CT. It was exciting to finally be able to share our story to the world outside of FB.

Here is that segment...

16th Station delivery

We were able (and they were willing to accept) to deliver 22 critters to Rocky Hill (CT) police dept, and place them in the care of Sgt DeNovellis. He was so excited to see them all displayed and see just how they can use them in their community. Thank you for being apart of our project. Its really near and dear to our hearts.

February's delayed mtg

Our February mtg had to be postponed a week, due to a snowfall. That being said, we had four ladies that came to on "open sew" (we could work on personal projects). Its good to have this type of mtg occasionally. because we have multiple tables that we can put together for laying out large projects.

Kim brought 20 finished little quilts and we proceeded to match up critters with them. She also planned to work on her blocks.

Kathy brought in two bags of quilts/critters, to be finished by Nancy this month. She got to take home lots of batting and critters to make more for next month. She also worked at laying out a new 21" block for herself... new pattern for her little quilts.

Maria came armed with her French Window blocks with choices she needed opinions on, for going forward. She also helped Nancy (me) pin-baste our purple quilt for our group. I'll hand-quilt it and bind/label it later in the week.

We got so much done , but only stayed til noon...
...next month, back to business.

February Blessings

So... we ended up getting 60 critters Blessed on a recent Sunday andthey already have homes to go to!

Snow days cleanup of scraps

Okay... snowed in, I decided to go through my box of scraps and organize them. Maybe even EMPTY the box! I decided to cut them in the following sizes (ones I use most often)-- layer cake (10"), charm (5"), then strips in 3", 2.5", 2", 1.5"... anything leftover that was wonky, but useable-another pile ... and a small pile of selvedges. I also took a photo of what little I "tossed" in the garbage. Took me two days, as I ironed a little, cut a little, napped and made meals, but REAL HAPPY I did it-even watched a few videos while my setup was on the coffee table.

When was the last time you organized your scraps?

Just curious...

Before bin of scraps...

After, cut into useable sizes

Wonky strips and selvedges...

EMPTY BIN!!

Garbage pieces!
