Our thanks to the newest member of our group, Kim, who put a call out to her community for donations of critters. 3 grocery bags full plus 2 black garbage bags (one full and one half full). While some critters didnt make the final vetting (way too big or too small), we are set for quite a while!!
Got a chance to deliver 14 Comfort Critters to Kristen at the #newbritainpolicedept today. ...our 13th police station.
I also dropped off 15 at the Community Mental Health Affiliates, just a block away from the police station! Thanks to Deacon Jessie for recommending us to her boss, Laura. She was SO EXCITED once she saw our critters in person! Hopefully, they will bring some comfort to the clients they serve.
So far, we've given out almost 370 critters, wrapped in beautiful quilts!!!

Picked up a bunch of quilts to finish from Kathy this month.
Also, delivering 14 critters to our 13th police station in New Britain AND visiting the Community Mental Health Affiliates (also in New Britain, CT) to see if what we offer can be useful to those they serve.

My buddy, Lieutenant Rovello, at Willimantic police dept, can call at anytime with sharing how our critters get used...
Within the last 72 hrs, two were given to two children that had to be removed from their home, one to another child who was distressed, and one to a child on the spectrum who was having a mental episode at school (SRO had one available)... and later found comfort in stroking the softness of the quilt and cuddling the stuffed animal.
... Perfect!

Since I was going to be in Willimantic on Saturday for their "No Kings" rally, I brought 10 more critters with their quilts to the Willimantic police dept, just in case they needed them. Since my favorite officer wasnt available, I left them with dispatch to put in his office. I connected with him and since he hasn't needed to replenish his supply, hes gonnacshare them with the fire dept next door to them.
He also wanted to connect me with Kathy Orlando (DCF) that he's worked with for many, many yrs.
